1986:

July:
Maryland Stingers upset FSU (Candi Orsini, Cathy Flores, etc..)at the 12th annual 1986 Cape Fear 7's tournament in the women's final. I truly believe this helped to catapult Maryland into the elite level of 7's currently enjoyed by the Stingers. Members of that 1986 team (if I can rememebr....I DO have the video of that fantastic final) were Marti Watts, Jami Jordan, Krista McFarren, MB Maher, Lisa Schofield, Jodi Fuller, Nina Gowl, Karla Hoffman, Donna Hylton (NOVA), and ???. I don't think FSU 7's had EVER been beaten by anybody up to this point. That's the biggest thrill of my career as a Stinger ! (besides Pam Heimann's hottub) [contibuted by MB Maher]
