The Self-Starter Assistant: How to Make The Biggest Difference You Can as an Assistant or Volunteer Coach

What can we do as assistant and volunteer coaches to help our club and our head coach the most?

In this one-day class, we will review best practices for how assistant and volunteer coaches can make the biggest difference possible, from the off-season to the post-season, at training and outside of it. We will look at 1) what rugby culture is and how to build it in your interactions with players, coaches, and supporters, 2) how to coordinate logistics including jersey and equipment orders, USA Rugby registration, communication with officials, and day of game field set-up, and 3) how to maximize your effect at practice and work with your head coach to plan and run training modules most effectively.

By the end of the day you will have a clear road-map for how to be a “self-starter” assistant coach, who truly lightens the load and knows how to contribute to your club in the most vital ways possible.”
